Royal Sundaram, a joint venture between Royal Sun Alliance PLC and Sundaram Finance Ltd. was recognized as the Model Insurer Asia 2010 recognizing the company’s best practices for optimization of infrastructure, automation, system integration, and Straight-through-processing (STP).
The report titled “Celent Model Insurer Asia 2010: Case Studies of Effective Technology Use in Insurance” recognized Royal Sundaram for its SOA based e-Policy Administration System (ePAS) that provides a single policy transaction system for all lines of business for all the business channels. This system also allows the company to externalize key product decisions and consolidate their business policy decisions (related Product Configuration, Underwriting and Rating) for multiple product lines.
Product Configuration and Rating is externalized and managed using a product configuration and rating engine provided by ValueMomentum’s iFoundry platform, while Underwriting and Eligibility rules are externalized and managed using a BRMS provided by JBOSS Rules platform.
