A leading Insurance company built a partner portal for its commercial lines business to enable self-service and increase product sales through its partner channels.
The Insurer operates its partner-related sales of motor, accident and health products through portals that offer limited quote and issuance functionalities with no service capabilities. The company was looking to accelerate the speed to market its products by improving the partner sales process through the partner portal. The company decided to develop a new partner portal that has an efficient interface across business processes, provides a seamless experience and extensive product information, and generates web analytics to improve the partner journeys.
Tools and Technologies
The Insurer utilized rich UI technologies like Angular and cloud-based micro-services technologies and event management framework to develop the solution to scale to the needs of the growing customer base.
Conducting several proofs-of-concept to automate manual tasks throughout business processes and building various new and reusable frameworks and components to aid in product development were key factors of success. Following agile scrum approach using product management tools for better collaboration also increased the success rate.
The newly created portal offers speed and easy access to product info, dashboards, metrics and helps improve the Partner experience. The automated processes reduced manual data entry, resulting in time and effort savings. Going forward, the Insurer can launch new products faster—in just a matter of weeks versus the months it would take them to do so previously.
