Solution Configuration When enterprises leverage iFoundry, they have to configure the engines and domain modeling workbenches , to set up a system that suits their specific purposes.iFoundry has been designed ground up to empower enterprises retain significant control over the configuration cycle.
iFoundry solutions come out-of-the-box with a rich set of solution elements (also referred to as solution metadata). These solution elements serve as the scaffolding for the solution by providing the structures for constructing solution entities like Agreements, Product Hierarchies, Pricing formulae & algorithms etc. iFoundry provides a rich set of modeling workbenches for configuring these solution elements.
When enterprises leverage iFoundry, there are two levels at which the engines and domain modeling workbenches can be configured to suit their specific purposes.
- Level 2 Solution Configuration involves the extension, renaming, reuse of iFoundry solution elements. iFoundry workbenches can enable rapid Level 2 configuration. These workbenches have been engineered ground-up to enable enterprises to become fully self-sufficient in performing Level 2 configuration activities. (98 % of all iFoundry configuration projects are expected to be delivered with all configuration being performed at Level 2)
- Level 1 Solution Configuration is required in the eventuality that Level 2 Configuration is not adequate
- Establish enterprise-specific artifacts for capturing Level 2 Configuration requirements
- Orient enterprises’ in-house solution architecture and business modeling teams, on iFoundry workbenches and best practices in solution element modeling
- Provide mentoring support to enterprises’ in-house solution architecture and business modeling teams when the latter perform Level 2 Configuration
- Analyze Level 1 Configuration requirements after interacting with key stakeholders
- Provide estimates for implementing Level 1 Configuration projects
- Execute the Level 1 Configuration project based on an engagement model, with a price contract involving a project fee schedule linked to successful delivery of milestones
- Execute the Level 1 Configuration project based on a resourcing model, involving a global delivery structure with resources deployed at client sites and at ValueMomentum’s low-cost offshore location
- High alignment with client goals and motivations, through the use of engagement models that link ValueMomentum’s payments to project success
- Up-to 40 % cost savings on configuration budgets, through the use of ValueMomentum’s global delivery capabilities
