Method-ware: A structured way of working enables ValueMomentum to minimize risks to investments, whether they are underwritten by the Clients or by ValueMomentum. We have defined methodologies and processes on which each consultant is trained. We customize these processes for each engagement, collect process metrics, compare collected metrics against accepted norms and ValueMomentum historic data – perform root cause analysis and improve on processes / methodologies

“Vision to Execution (V2E)” Process
Our Vision to Execution (V2E) application development process has enabled us to deliver projects on time within budget consistently. V2E enables a proactive engagement with our Client and serves to align our objectives with our Clients project goals right from the very beginning. Combined with our Coding standards and Estimation methods, V2E has proved to be an invaluable tool for our Project Managers as well as our Clients.

“Quick-VAR” Business modeling and rules formulation methodology
An extension to V2E, our Quick-VAR methodology allows us to deliver applications that utilize a business rules engine. It is a framework that is comprehensive and lays down a structured approach from Discovery stage (including Business Modeling) to Rules formulation.

“ELEVATE” agile-enablement / reengineering methodology
ELEVATE is a mature methodology for reengineering legacy applications into agile applications, thereby considerably reducing the cost of maintenance and the time taken to implement change requests. It aids the evaluation of organizational impact, architecture challenges and business imperatives of the reengineering efforts, provides techniques for assessing the quality of the legacy applications and in the recommendation of a modernization strategy and IT architecture. We combine Quick-VAR within ELEVATE to ensure that business knowledge embedded in the legacy systems is leveraged in delivering a modern, flexible application and easy to maintain agile application.

ELEVATE also advocates utilization of tools that can assist in sizing the legacy code and automated extraction of business logic for significant reduction of effort involved in reengineering legacy systems.

“EVOLVE” maintenance methodology
At ValueMomentum, we use our EVOLVE and V2E methodologies in providing application maintenance services. Our application maintenance services typically involve activities such as:

• Quick fixes (that take less than 3 days to implement)
• Medium size enhancements (that take 3 days to a month to implement)
• New functionality development (that takes more than a month to implement)
• Problem resolution (bug fixes, operational problem fixes, quick temporary fixes)
• Performance improvement of the existing software

The ETL process
The ETL and Data migration process we follow is a generic process and can be utilized with any commercially available ETL tool.

“InSync” test-as-you-develop testing methodology
The InSync methodology parallels typical development methodologies of most organizations (either Waterfall or Iterative or V2E), thus providing the vehicle for a close working relationship between testing and development teams at all phases of software life cycle. It fosters the idea of defining test plans at every phase of the development process and be ready to respond to change. InSync consists of several setup activities, testing tasks, events and processes that support automated, as well as manual, software testing. We have used InSync in conjunction with automated testing tools such as those from Mercury and Rational.
