- Our Customer sought to migrate its Automated Underwriting System from a legacy platform to a services-oriented modern, inference-based Rules Engine
- Key drivers for creating the above infrastructure were:
- The current system was not delivering acceptable round-trip performance (For Users when submission requests were placed)
- Existing architecture was limited in its ability to expand further.
- Demand for business functionality continued to grow.

Business Rules Management Systems (BRMS)
- ValueMomentum partnered with the Customer to migrate the legacy AUS and deploy reusable Underwriting services on a Business Rules Engine and integrate these with the rest of the application using a state-of-the-art process integration platform
- The responsibilities handled by ValueMomentum included:
- Analyzed artifacts and documentation on the existing system and the existing Underwriting rules and evolved Rule Templates to represent the Underwriting rules
- Gathered all the requisite use cases and patterns in a structured format that could be implemented easily.
- Worked with the Customer in performing the Migration of Underwriting Rules in a phased manner. Nine knowledge bases were implemented in a staggered manner so as to cause minimum disruption to business operations
- Deployed and integrated the rules services using IBM WBI
