• The client, a Property and Casualty organization head quartered in Jacksonville, FL, initiated its platform replacement projected for both Personal and Commercial lines of business in 2007
• The project was aimed to shift from the Policy Admin System that was residing on a mainframe based legacy environment to a web based point of sale and full life cycle policy admin system that improves processing efficiencies, enhances the user-experience and reduces cost structure through automation
• For commercial lines the client has opted a popular product for the new PAS system while for Personal Lines the client group contracted with OneShield to configure a Policy Admin System
• VMI partnered with the client and rolled out both Auto and HO products for 15 states meeting the quality standards and timelines set forth by the client

Core Systems Replacement & Modernization

As part of its Platform Replacement project initiative for Personal Lines, the client has identified OneShield Inc as its vendor and decided to build its PAS system based on OneShield Dragon Designer Policy Admin suite.

Scope of the project is outlines below briefly:

• Rollout Personal Auto and Homeowners products for about 9 states
• Includes New Business, Endorsements, Cancellations, Re-instatement, Re-write and manual renewal transaction
• In due course Automatic renewals were also added as part of scope

• From initiatives implemented in Modeling and Requirements helped us eliminate bottle necks in design phase and accelerate delivery
• Factory model approach paved way to reduce the efforts significantly for sub sequent state roll outs. This created new bandwidth for development team which utilized to accommodate change requests without impacting timelines
• Product copy utility tool built internally helped reduced efforts as well as bring in consistency in development
